Taoiseach’s media comments “breath-taking lack of awareness” – Boylan

The Taoiseach’s recent comments on the Irish media reflect a worrying trend that’s being mirrored elsewhere in the US and Europe.

That’s according to the Sinn Fein MEP Lynn Boylan. She says the Taoiseach’s critical remarks about the Irish media reflect a lack of awareness of the growing hostility in some countries towards journalists.

The European Parliament just recently debated press freedom and the safety of journalists in Europe following the murder of an investigative journalist in Slovakia.
