MEP backs calls for a Cork Maritime Cluster – Ni Raida

The Ireland South MEP Liadh Ni Riada is supporting calls for Cork to be developed into a Maritime Cluster. The idea of creating a maritime cluster in Cork was aired at the recent Galway Ocean Wealth Summit.

The Sinn Fein MEP who sits on the European Parliament’s Fisheries Committee, says this would allow Cork to become a hub for marine innovation, R&D, biotech, engineering for offshore renewables, transportation and much more.

And Ni Riada says the initiative could extend beyond Cork itself.
