Where Does It Hurt The Most?

In Psalm 3, we study the first of the lamenting Psalms. King David is fleeing from his son Absalom who is trying to overthrow him as King. What hurts the most? For David it was a favored son trying to kill him and his family. Can you give that hurt of yours to God? God is on the throne, Christ is reigning and as we give him that place in our hearts and lives we allow him to be our shield. David points ahead to Christ as the one who fights his battles and even allows him to rest (sleep) while fleeing from his son. We need to put our faith and confidence in the Lord were we allow him to take our worst hurt and rest in his presence like David did.
