We've all probably heard of the goodness and kindness of God. He is merciful and patient, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. In Christ, He has given us everything we need to live a life of godliness and overcome the grip of temptation and sin! But do our lives reflect our appreciation of such gifts and honor Him with how we live or do we "follow our heart" and only later ask Him to forgive us? Romans 2:4 says, "Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God's kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?" During this study of Nehemiah we discuss how the Israelites also fell into the sin of presumption and over looked the riches of God's provision and blessings for them. As Believers, let us use their example to learn how to repent and flee from presuming upon God's kindness and live lives defined by appreciation for all He has given us in Christ Jesus instead!
