Bio:
Earl Jones, Jr. and William “Bootsy” Jones are the brothers who comprise the dynamic Christian music duo, The Jones Boys. Born and raised in a musical family, it’s no wonder they would inherit a passion for music and they are honored to continue the legacy of ushering people into the presence of God through music. The Jones Boys credit the late Rev. Timothy Wright for giving them their start in the gospel music industry and are eternally grateful for his mentorship.
The Jones Boys had individual solo projects prior to forming the duo. In 2013, William released “It Is Written” and the song, “Just Your Name” hit the Top 100 Gospel Billboard chart. In 2009, Earl released hit record “I’m Gonna Wait”.
Earl Jones Jr. has shared billing and stages nationwide with such gospel greats as Hezekiah Walker, James Hall, Kim Burrell, Kirk Franklin, Dottie Peoples, Vickie Winans, and Rance Allen. Bootsy has grown to be a sought after songwriter, producer, and engineer. Understanding the importance of vision, preparation and planning, he pooled his resources and built his studio-- BJM Studio. He has produced and penned hit songs including “Everything’s Alright” for the late great Reverend Timothy Wright, "Sho Been Good" for Keith "Wonderboy" Johnson, "For My Good" for Timiney Figueroa, and “He Lives” for Pastor John P. Kee, to name a few.
The Jones Boys faithfully serve at First Calvary Church in Brooklyn, NY where their father, Rev. Earl Jones, Sr. is the pastor. It is there that they have honed their gifts and talents. Earl would eventually become Director of Sacred Arts and Bootsy the Musical Director. It is a privilege for them to serve along with their family in ministry – their mother, Lady Joyce is an associate minister and Earl’s wife, Shéree is a youth minister. For the Jones Boys, family relationship is everything, but a relationship with God is paramount because real men worship!
