The book of Judges is often dealt superficially: these are heroes to emulate. A not-too-much closer look reveals that nearly all the judges were deeply flawed and less than exemplary. And Judges' account of Israel's trajectory is tragic. So what can we learn from reading this ancient history? Very useful principles, rooted in the Gospel. Let's reason together (Isaiah 1:18) and remember Jesus' warning: be careful how we listen (Luke 8:18).
