Daily Devotional By Archbishop Foley Beach

MESSAGE SUMMARY: As the Psalmist tells us in Psalms 37:4: “Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.". Delighting yourself in the Lord does not mean a new car if you so desire. It does mean that if we are delighting in our relationship with the Lord, it will be His desires that fill our heart with His will for us. As we are told in Deuteronomy 30:9-10: “The LORD your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hand, in the fruit of your womb and in the fruit of your cattle and in the fruit of your ground. For the LORD will again take delight in prospering you, as he took delight in your fathers, when you obey the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes that are written in this Book of the Law, when you turn to the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.". The desires of our heart come to us when we delight ourselves in the Lord – not in the world; not in ourselves; or not in what is going on in our lives outside of our relationship with the Lord.
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Self-centeredness. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit’s fruit of Love. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f).
