In the book of Joshua, God’s people Israel face their most daunting challenge, and under a new leader. Will he be effective? Will Yahweh be with him and them? What will their future hold? How perilous are their current circumstances? And how can these answered questions make a difference for Jesus-followers today? Let’s reason together (Isaiah 1:18) and remember Jesus’s warning: we should be careful how we listen (Luke 8:18).

Remember our two basic questions when we come to any OT text:
1) In this text, what do I learn about my God?
2) From this text, what will I do with what I’ve learned about my God?
