With seemingly more and more brawls in the stands, fans going at each other's throats on social media, and the forming of the Fan Police, sports fans today appear to be a completely different breed than fans from back in the day.
Maybe we're exposed to more fans behaving badly, so it just appears worse. But fans seem more concerned about being right, or being the smartest person in the room, than they are rooting for their favorite teams and players.
And fans certainly seem more concerned with how other fans spend their time at the stadium than they are their own experience.
But why?
