"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart" Psalm 37: 5 & 6
Colors make me happy. says Pam Organized colors make me even happier. Spools of ribbon, stacks of papers, bottles of paints, beads, buttons…. yes, they are all sorted, grouped & stored by color in my studio. When I get all out of sorts, stressed out, or in a creative rut, spending time re-sorting my colors relieves stress. Weird, I know, but it works.
Whether it was using Crayola Crayons to add color to the walls of our home as a toddler or now as an adult using paint and brushes to paint art that will hang on the walls of another person's home, creating, drawing and crafting have been a part of my life in varying degrees throughout my entire journey. And to think, I get paid to paint my heart's desire. Wow! What a blessing! I could not do this without the help and support of my husband, Terry. He is my partner in business and in life.
We sell my artwork online and also through art & craft shows throughout the Southeast. It can be a lot of work and become quite stressful at times, but we consider what we do to be more than a business. It is a ministry. We have been given the opportunity throughout the years to come in contact with thousands of people, whether they enter our craft show booth or visit our online shop, and offer words of encouragement and hope from the truth of God's Word. It is an indescribable joy to overhear a customer reading aloud the verses around a picture I have painted. My husband, the muscle and brains of the operation, enjoys sharing that it is also a form of "marriage therapy", especially when we work those shows that enable him to spend 8 to 10 hours sharing a 2 by 5 ft workspace with his wife!
