Pop Up 5: With the Red Sox just two wins away from another World Series title, that means Red Sox fans are just two wins away from once again becoming one of the more arrogant and insufferable fan bases on the planet.
Boston fans have had plenty to cheer about over the last 18 years, and a lot of them aren't shy about letting us know about it.
But they are not alone. Fans of successful teams usually act like they own the world when their team wins, even though they did nothing to help in the victory. We have become so attached to our teams, we feel a sense of accomplishment when our teams win, despite the fact that nothing we did had any effect on the outcome.
That still doesn't stop us from flocking to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. and shouting from the rooftops are great "we" are, totally unaware that most of what we do as fans really doesn't matter.
Also in this Pop Up Pod, we'll try to rebound from a lousy week with a new batch of Pigskin Picks.
