MESSAGE SUMMARY: In the Bible, having possessions is not condemned; and the Bible commends those that save for the future. In Proverbs 6:6, the propensity of the ant to “store up” in the summer for the winter is posited as behavior we should emulate: “Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise.". The Bible encourages the followers of Jesus to work hard and to be thankful for what God provides while having joy, as we learn from Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:58: “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.".
TODAY’S AFFIRMATION: I affirm that because I am in Jesus Christ, I will not be ashamed of the Gospel. I will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes (including me). (From Romans 1:16).
