Today, we live in the “Age of the Selfie”, where garnering more “likes” and broadcasting one’s social media persona fuels everyone’s need to feel important. Being average or ordinary has earned a bad rap because it implies that someone is undistinguished, boring, and is a nobody.
But I believe that our definition of being ordinary is one-dimensional because it’s based solely on superficial criteria. It disregards virtue such as our compassion, kindness, dependability.
In this episode, I talk about the negative effects of the need to feel important and how we can overcome it by embracing our ordinariness while highlighting our strengths.
