What is the American Public Education really teaching our Kids?

Tomorrow morning we will be doing a pre-Christmas broadcast with education experts Holly Swanson and Alex Newman. They are both accomplished authors on the subject of sustainable development and the many efforts by academia and various foundations to steer the course of American public education toward socialism and communism as the basis of our modern public education system.  Although we spend much more per student than other countries on public education we now have some of the lowest academic standards in the developed world.  This is no accident, and has led many to question the ultimate mission of federal education standards and the advisability of continuing to fund the U.S. Department of Education.
