Luton Town Supporters' Trust podcast bonus episode: Alan McCormack and Andrew Shinnie
Luton Town are top of the league. They’ve equalled the club’s longest ever unbeaten Football League run of 19 games and they’re on course for the Championship through back-to-back promotions for the first tie in their history. It’s safe to say, it’s pretty good to be a Hatter.
Tony and Kev caught up with midfield duo Alan McCormack and Andrew Shinnie, as the latter reveals he is the happiest he’s been at any point in his career.
The Scot talks about whether Town can go unbeaten until the end of the season and that he thinks his team can’t be "far off many of the good Luton sides in the past”.
Shinnie and McCormack have both played in the Championship before, with Birmingham and Brentford respectively, and they discuss whether the current Luton squad could cope in the second tier, if they were to get promoted this season.
In talking about their team-mates, listen in to see who they name “an animal” of a player and a big personality off the pitch. Plus, they give their views on January transfer signings George Concur and George Thorne.
Macca talks about his personal plans for the end of the season and whether he'll be staying at Luton.
Shinnie talks international hopes for both him and top scorer James Collins, who was watched by Republic of Ireland assistant Robbie Keane when he scored his 19th of the season during the 3-0 win over Wycombe.
And the pair answer the crucial question of just what the difference has been since former boss Nathan Jones left the club.
