1. That Which Has Occurred: The MSU/ND Series(starts at 0:50)
Michigan finally swept a series! First series sweep since St Lawrence in October. MSU was who we thought we were (TM Dennis Green) and Michigan played well all series. We talk about a few specific good and bad plays, and give thanks that MSU is now competent but not quite good. The perfect spot for maximum enjoyment.
The loss to Notre Dame was unfortunate and pretty much eliminated Michigan from an at-large bid for the NCAA tournament. Michigan started slow, had some terrible breakdowns on the penalty kill, and just could not catch up. Most Notre Dame games over the last couple seasons are even on 5v5 and decided on special teams, where ND has had a decided advantage.
(starts at 20:54)
We talk about OSU and the upcoming schedule. Last year Michigan could not beat OSU but played them close twice. This season Michigan has split in Columbus and played well both games, even having a lead in the 3rd in the game they lost. This series could go either way, and will provide a good test for Michigan.
After OSU Michigan plays at Wisconsin, and has what would seem to be the toughest remaining schedule of all teams in the Big 10's mushy middle. Spots 2-6 are up for grabs, with a top 4 spot being important as you get to host your first round series.
