Almost five decades after Nixon infamously declared drug abuse as "public enemy number one" in the United States, the efficacy of the War on Drugs as a policy measure is clear to many. For Ethan Nadelmann, who founded the Drug Policy Alliance in response to the harsh criminal justice approach, the answer lies in advocating in drug policies "grounded in science, compassion, health, and human rights."
