This part of The Story is about the power of idols. What are idols? Anything that takes a higher priority in your life before God. Here are some examples of idols from my own life:
- My family
- My job
- Deer hunting
- Home or cars
- Sports
- Money
- Food
If we look around the walls of our homes, we often see clues to our idols. Are they reminders of your salvation in Christ and your relationship with Him or something else?
In The Story, Lesson 14 ... before King Reheboam or King Jereboam began to worship idols and lead their nation in worshipping idols, King Solomon gave in to a weakness and began to worship idols, too. He began amassing wealth for himself instead of following God ... he began worshipping himself and the love of money. This didn’t happen overnight, it took place over many years
