Shetland ponies from Therapy Ponies Scotland have been making a positive impression with elderly residents at the Grove Care Home in Kemnay. Animal therapy has been shown to reduce stress and improve motor skills.
A Don's mad football fan who has been fighting Alzheimers disease was featured in a poignant video which has already gained more than 25,000 views. The video was made through Football Memories set up by Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust and Alzheimers Scotland.
Children at Kittybrewster School have teamed up with residents of Clifton Court to turn a grey coloured electricity sub station into a multi coloured 3 D mural with the help of an International Artist. The project was funded through Aberdeen City Council's Participatory Project known as UDECIDE. The pupils have been visiting the residents at the Clifton Court Sheltered Housing complex to give teaching on digital skills.
A trishaw at Balmedie House Care Home has allowed residents to get fresh air, exercise, explore and make happy memories. Two 95 year old twins have really benefitted. The trishaw has been made possible through a partnership between Balmedie, Belhelvie Church of Scotland and Cycling without Age Scotland.
