Sorry for the late upload listeners! Allen made a major move across three states so we took a short break for him to get him settled! Enjoy this free bonus episode of our review of Marvel's Avengers: Endgame!
--------------------------------------------------------
In 1997, Steven Spielberg's production company Amblin Entertainment in conjunction Marvel Comics imprint Malibu Comics (so yes technically this is a Marvel movie)--brought the secret government UFO organization known as the Men in Black to the big screen. Creating a surprising pairing between Will Smith (fresh off The Fresh Prince of Bel-Aire) and Tommy Lee-Jones (fresh off his Oscar win for The Fugitive)--the duo appealed to young and old alike for an action packed, comedy light years ahead of the competition at the summer box office. The film was a surprise hit, grossing over half-a-billion dollars. Not surprisingly, the film has remained in the cultural zeitgeist with even the most modest film watcher having heard of "men in black." Listeners, you may be shocked to hear this is Corbin and Allen's firs time watching the franchise all the way through! So does Men in Black still hold up 22 years later (remember CGI was iffy back then!). Does it still feature enough laughs to remain relevant? Join Corbin and Allen as they discuss Men In Black!
Question after the show: What is your memory of seeing this film for the first time? Also, does Men in Black still contain enough intrigue for you to see the upcoming Men in Black: International? Comment below!
