There are certain lines in movies that I love to hang on to… as a kid growing up I loved all the Rambo movies… one of the greatest lines was in Rambo 2 where Colonel Trautman is in prison and the general holding him comes in to interrogate him regarding Rambo… at one point he looks at Trautman and says…
Zaysen: Who does he think he is…God?
Colonel Trautman: No… God would show mercy… He won’t.
But it’s a good question… “who do you think you are?”

How many of you are perfect? Holy? Righteous? Sinless? Set a part? Redeemed?
Guess what? I am!
And so are you!
Phil. 3:9-11
9 My passion is to be consumed with him and not clinging to my own “righteousness” based in keeping the written Law. My “righteousness” will be his, based on the faithfulness of Jesus Christ—the very righteousness that comes from God. 10 And I continually long to know the wonders of Jesus more fully and to experience the overflowing power of his resurrection working in me. I will be one with him in his sufferings and I will be one with him in his death. 11 Only then will I be able to experience complete oneness with him in his resurrection from the realm of death.
Romans 3:
22And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.
2 Cor. 5: God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
If you believe you are going to struggle with sin… you will struggle with sin. If you think, no one can actually live a holy righteous life, then you won’t. But if you believe Scripture and what it says…
You are holy, righteous, perfect, sinless… it will start to affect you in an amazing way.
Here is the absolute iron clad truth: You will act like the person you believe yourself to be. You will never act yourself into the person you want to be. It always starts with what you tell yourself.
And for us… we tell ourselves what scripture says about us!
WE fight, live, believe and act in the seat of his righteousness (victory)
WE view our circumstances in the seat of his righteousness (victory)
We speak to our past our present and our future in the righteousness of God.
I read a story somewhere on Emmitt Smith the great running back who holds the rushing record for the NFL. He shared a story of when he was 16 talking to his mom in their kitchen. He came home and told her that the coach thinks he could be an NFL player someday. She said what do you have to do… and he said well he told me it’s not so much what I have to do, but how I have to start thinking. He said even though I am only 16 He said I need to start believing I am an NFL player right now… and to start making decisions like an NFL player. He said would an NFL player hang out with gang bangers? Cheat on tests? Steal? slack off in practice? give a bad example to the other players? Emmitt goes on to say and that is what I did, I started thinking like an NFL player, making decisions like an NFL player… and you know what in just 5 years I was one.
So men, just start thinking like your are sinless, holy, righteous, pure, set apart, anointed… just like scripture says you are. Then start making decisions accordingly.
Todays Challenge: Take time to read the Gospels and put you as the main character. Where it says: Jesus healed the sick… I would read it “and Garth healed the sick”. Take a minute and really feel what it is like to be Jesus, to be sinless, righteous and holy…and then trust that you truly are- why? Because you are!
