He also is certified lobbyist for Stony Brook; Long Island Representative for the Association for Program Administrators of CSTEP and STEP, Inc.; and serves as a support staff and faculty team member of the $11.5-million NSF Math, Science and
Technology Partners Project.
Vallen L. Emery Jr., Ph.D.
Outreach Program Manager for U.S. Army Research Laboratory
Dr. Vallen L. Emery Jr. served as the director of special projects and the director of marketing at the Johns Hopkins Health Plan in Baltimore, then as a research biologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station, before taking his current post. He holds a bachelors degree in chemistry from Morgan State University, a masters degree in marine estuarine and environmental science from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, and a doctorate in environmental science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
