Repent! Yep, we said it! Repent! You don't hear this word often today and as a result, it seems to be the word that almost sends shutters up ones spine when uttered from someones lips. And yet, it was quit the popular word in the New Testament, appearing approximately 60 times just in the New Testament. But what does this word mean? Well, in our humble opinion, it means, "choosing to hate the sin you once loved so that you may love the one you once chose to hate". You see, many people confuse guilt for repentance. They feel sorry for what they had done in the moment, and maybe even say they will never do it again because of their shame, but there is no repentance. So, they stumble again, and again, caught in the cyclical pattern of sin, unable to get their head above water because they aren't submitting to the Captain. This is not the type of "repentance" God is seeking, for he is looking for action, not words! Listen along with us as we discuss this concept of what it truly means to repent, as well as what it means to be an "under-oarsman" of Christ!
