Finishing up our series over the book of Acts, we conclude with a discussion over the medicinal practices of Christians! So many today trust in the flesh, relying, and depending upon what man can do instead of trusting and relying upon what Christ can do. Instead of relying upon the grace of God that we have received in Christ, we turn to anti-depressants, bi-polar medication, ritalin, etc...all behavioral medications that mask the real problems: rebellion, doubt, and a lack of self-control! The Word calls them sin, and no amount of medication will fix the inner problem of what only Christ can. Paul told Timothy, "we have not received a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control". He also writes to the Corinthian Church that, "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds...and take every thought captive to obey Christ". So why do we not believe these Truths anymore? When did the Word stop being enough for us to believe in the power of grace? When did we start trusting more in the power of man instead of the power of God? We realize this is a delicate issue and understand that faith has varying degrees and timings in all of our lives as to when we grow in it, but no matter what side of the fence you stand on this issue, you can't deny what the Word teaches but only refuse to believe it...
