Born in Cuba, arriving to NYC Astoria Queens as a child, after high school in 1984 joined the USMC. in 1990 joined the NYPD, after completion of 20 years completed his career as a Detective in the NYPD Bomb Squad. Det. Lou Alvarez would spend 3 months at the WTC working. Upon retiring from the NYPD Lou Alvarez begins working for the TSA until 2017 when Colorectal Cancer was found killing his body, Lou under goes 69 chemo treatments. Det. Lou Alvarez, NYPD died June 2019, hero and 9-11Victims Advocate. Det. Lou Alvarez is survived by three sons, David, Tyler, Benjamin, His Parents, Two Brothers, and a Sister.
