Season 1: Episode 8
Happy Halloween!
Poe is more famous for his poetry than his prose, but today we’re reading, arguably his most famous work, “The Raven,” as well as “The Black Cat.” Now the latter is a short story, but “The Raven” is actually a poem. I chose to read it on the show because it’s a narrative poem, and so even though it rhymes, it does tell a story.
A lot of his work is considered scary, or at least creepy. And these two are no exception. So there’s your disclaimer, if you’re not up for scary today (though it is Halloween this week, so why wouldn't you be?).
If you've written a story and would like the chance for it to be read on the show, please email it to storykingpodcast@gmail.com
Keep it clean and under 3000 words. I prefer speculative fiction, but will appreciate a good story in any genre.
