Introduction 

Text: Isaiah 40

From This text Why is the Lord such a Great God?

1. He is tender (verse 1-11)
   • He comforts (verse 1)
   • He smooths (verse 4)
   • He gives good news (verse 9)
   • He rewards (verse 10)
   • He shepherds (verse 11)
   • Do you see God waiting to hold you?
2. He is transcendent (verse 12-27)
   • Defined: He is perfect.
   • He has infinite presence (verse 12)
   • He has infinite knowledge (verse 13-14)
   • He has infinite power (verse 15-26)
   • What does that mean for us today?
3. He is tireless (verse 28-31)
   1. He doesn't become weary (verse 28)
   2. He gives help to the weary (verse 29-31)

Conclusion

• God is not necessarily on the side of the strongest army
•  Righteousness is still the greatest weapon
