There are 4 main points extracted from the text in 1 Peter, chapter 2: 1) The Church of Jesus Christ is now the Priesthood of God that serves at the Temple of God, 2) Fleshly desires are an enemy to the soul and must not be allowed a voice, 3) Submission to authority is paramount to healthily abiding in, and exampling Christ, 4) Retaliation, vengeance, and self-defense are un-Christian because they are un-like our example in Christ! These concepts cannot be undervalued if we are to live holy lives in the express image of King Jesus, as there have been many who have mistakenly eliminated these values and truths from their core beliefs, but still thought themselves, "Christian"! But this sort of ignorance can be tolerated no longer if we are to exemplify the power of the cross unto the world in the full image of our King! This sermon is geared to expose, and shine the Light of Truth on the heretical viewpoints that many have been deceived into believing, including, but not limited to, the belief that this nation was founded upon Christian values in light of the cross of Christ! We fully understand that when the Light is shone upon the darkened corners of ones heart and mind, that it can sometimes be painful, so we encourage you to listen unbiasedly, and allow the Word of God to speak, and be the plumb-line for which Truth is established. For if we say we are "Christian", then our lives must be in-line with looking like "Christ", not the culture around us, as His Word commands...
