What happened after God gave Abram a new name (Abraham) and the sign of His covenant (circumcision) in Genesis 17? Abraham became a man of great obedience! He would hold NOTHING back from His covenant God! When God asks Abraham for “your only son Isaac, whom you love” (Gen. 22:2), the Gospel of the Covenant was opened to Abraham at an even deeper level. Part of ancient covenantal ceremonies was “the exchange of sons.” Abraham was thinking, “If God is asking for my son, that must mean He will give me His Son!” How do we know this? Abraham told Isaac, ““My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering” (Gen. 22:8). Jesus said, “Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad” (John 8:56). Wow! This revelation enabled Abraham to walk in steadfast faith. Join us as we dig into the glories of the blood covenant!
