In this episode Liz does a follow-up interview from last month with Willie Flowers, president of the Howard County in NAACP.
They discuss a visit Liz made to Calvert county Maryland based on Willie‘s having introduced her to the chair of the NAACP there. She learned of some living relatives of her mother’s family who lived in the County in the 1800’s. They also spoke of the connection with the message in Ta Nehisi Coates’ most recent book, “The Water Dancer”.
Finally they acknowledged the huge impact former Congressman Elijah Cummings, a true warrior for justice, had on both of their lives and the lives of so many others.
