From Sobriety To Recovery: An Addiction Recovery Podcast
Education:Self-Improvement
In this week's episode we discuss the spirituality side of relationships in regards to how our judgments of others affect the relationships we have with them.
Our three pillars of our addiction recovery are gratitude, humility, and integrity.
Are the relationships in your life lining up with the new person you are becoming and striving to become each day?
As humans, we are in a constant state of comparison, and the way we relate to ourselves, other people, and our past holds all the weight in how we will connect with ourselves and everyone we come in contact with.
Whether we are building people up or putting them down, either way, it is not healthy - it's imperative we build a strategy to see ourselves as equal to others and encompass that equal-ness when we interact with them.
Judgments are not always about putting people down - we can build them up too - and that pedestaling of ourselves or someone else breaks the connection we could have. It alters the relationship in a way where someone feels better about themselves while the other person is made to feel less than in comparison.
