Kindness
You cannot do a kindness too soon, because you never know how soon it will be TOO LATE.
Kindness
Somerset Maughan's (English novelist, playwright, and short-story writer) mother was an extraordinarily beautiful woman married to an extraordinarily ugly man. When a family friend once asked how such a beautiful woman could have married such an ugly man, she replied, "He has never once hurt my feelings."
Eph. 4:31, 32
31Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, outcry and slander, along with every form of malice. 32 Be kind and tender-hearted to one another, forgiving each other just as in Christ God forgave you.
How to be kind?
Look at verse 31…
Get rid = GK Ah-hee-ro
To lift up and give away. It’s hard to be kind if you are dealing with bitterness, rage, anger outcry, slander and malice.
When you are dealing with your own stuff, it ’s hard to deal with other people who have stuff!
Be kind and tenderhearted: live in the moment and remember God is kind to you in your bad times.
When you cut people slack it makes it easier. A guy cuts you off? Maybe he had a phone call that his son is sick or hurt.
A person is in line with 22 items in the express lane… maybe they didn’t see the sign. You don’t always see the signs!
Live in their moment as yourself!
Realize there is always a way to show kindness.
God always showed kindness… the woman caught in adultery. He had every right to pick up a stone and throw it at her. It was the law, he was perfect and he could stand in judgement… But instead he chose kindness in a unique way.
Kindness, Wisdom
There was a sheep-raising farmer. Next to him was
another farmer who was raising wheat, children, and
large dogs. The dogs were scaring the sheep. The sheep
farmer did not know what to do. He could shoot the
dogs, poison them, be nasty to his neighbor, or even
take him to court.
He prayed about it....
As soon as some new lambs were born he gave each
of the neighbor's children one of the lambs as a pet.
The children were thrilled. But their father could no
longer allow his dogs to run rampant as before. He
restrained them for the sake of the pet lambs. The two
farmers became friends. Kindness won.
