Paul and Matt start the show discussing their thoughts on the playoff semi-finals between LSU vs Oklahoma and Ohio State vs Clemson. They discuss Joe Burrow's historic performance, Burrow's best traits, Justin Jefferson's rise to relevance, Jalen Hurts' development as a quarterback, JK Dobbins skill set, differences right now between Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields and the rivalry that is emerging between those two.
Next up, Paul and Matt discuss some of the other big bowl games and prospects that stood out. Some of the players discussed include Lamical Perine showing more versatility than originally thought, stop overthinking Jerry Jeudy because of analytics, the disconnect between the NFL and devy/draft twitter on Tyler Johnson, Justin Herbert will still be a top 10 pick and whether or not Jake Fromm should declare.
In the next segment Matt and Paul discuss how during their film studies it is becoming increasingly difficult to evaluate wide receivers who line up inside because they rarely deal with press coverage or contact early in their routes. Paul discusses how this is just another reason why college stats and analytics have little meaning without context because of scheme, level of opponents and opportunity. Some of the players discussed and how their physical traits and talent may transition to the NFL include Justin Jefferson, Brandon Aiyuk, Devin Duvernay and KJ Hamler.
In the final segment, Paul and Matt share some more film notes on some additional prospects they have recently watched for the 2020 S2S Scouting Notebook. Some of the prospects discussed include Nico Collins, Lawrence Cager, Van Jefferson, John Hightower, Jauan Jennings, Quartney Davis and Warren Jackson.
