Omar is a Writer, Mental Health Advocate, Graphic Designer, and upcoming Author. Writing has been a part of his life since high school but then he faced his first real heartbreak which eventually led him into a state of depression and isolation. He would write poems as an outlet, not realizing it was only the emotional release. Essentially, he was looking for happiness outside of himself which placed him in very vulnerable position.
He believes that if his words have the power to resonate with someone that he doesn't know and if it happens to give them permission to be themselves, he will keep writing.
In this episode, Omar shares his story of how he got himself out of a deep depressed state after a major heartbreak and talks a lot about Mental health and how it’s effecting many peoples lives due to the stigmas and perceptions other people have around this subject matter.
