This Sunday’s message is entitled "Sour Grapes and Sovereign Grace: The Hard-hitting Kindness of the Word of God". As we continue our study of Genesis 4, we are reminded that serving God is not easy. In fact, when we are working hard for the Lord, some pretty dangerous things can begin to happen in our hearts.

What happens, when ministry is disappointing. What happens, when it feels like God ignores our sacrifices and honors others instead. What happens in our hearts, when ministry gets hard.

The Bible prepares God’s people for the sacrifices of ministry by kindly but clearly reminding us, that we are servants and not sovereigns. When things go wrong, we ought to cry out to the Lord rather than lash out at one another.
