I often enjoy reminiscing with other Ugandan Refugees about their journeys to Canada, as each of our stories are unique and deeply personal. Several months ago, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Author Anar Ali who has written the novel “Night of Power” which tells the story of a Muslim family that has lived in Canada ever since dictator Idi Amin expelled South Asians from Uganda.
Night of Power is a heart-wrenching story of a family in crisis. Gripping and unforgettable, Anar Ali's novel vividly illuminates the injustices of displacement and the nuances of identity--of losing a home and coming home again.
