in today's episode I sit down with a
true renaissance man he is one of the
smartest most thought-provoking creative
hardworking and hilarious individuals I
know I met him in college as a b-boy and
have been good friends with them ever
since
I can literally talk and joke with this
guy forever so please enjoy the episode
with the one and only queen bang hello
everybody welcome to the traveling
trashcan bonanza today we are meeting
with some interesting people and we're
gonna try to get them to say racist
things in any evidence I see today
handsome a gentleman a scholar a dancer
a breaker a published author an upper
body built a finger tug in e-commerce
tycoon and lastly a porn star I have the
name for it he's playing bang mr. Quinn
Bing in the flesh so I just wanted to
put this out there me and Kurt we're
talking for 45 minutes and said I forgot
to press record we're doing this all
over again so I hope it seems organic
yeah I'm splicing terrible the terrible
audio quality if this shit sucks you
know actually when you were when you
were doing that
when you're when we're talking I was
like interesting that the record button
is green and then I realize when you
pressed it I was like oh I guess it's
not supposed to be green it's supposed
to be red that's freaking terrible
that's a fail oh my god um anyway so I
got my friend Kwang Bing here who is a
very multi-talented guy very creative
guy very motivated guy and I want to ask
him a few questions but first did I miss
anything when I was introducing you
because you do a lot of things
oh yeah well day job I'm a sleazy sales
person so I swindle people out of their
money hmm
yeah have you ever swindled me out of
hahaha the I have I well I can't think
that a specific example I can't I'm sure
you have um here's an interesting
question yeah so we're both b-boys what
is your take on b-boying entering the
Olympics I think it's really cool it's
is really validating because these we
were talking about this in the other
podcast that wasn't recorded it takes a
lot of fucking work and then it amazes
me that some people so many people
invest so much of their time doing this
because it's dangerous you don't get
paid very well and so it's like reward
them give them something give them the
Olympics but but what was your it was
your opinion because I think you
mentioned that you don't agree with you
oh no no I I think okay cool I do think
that it well my biggest thing on it is
that for it to be in the Olympics you
need to have like a good way of judging
it right and I think right now there's
not really a good way of judging it
other than I mean coz what we do
essentially is line up a bunch of people
that have been breaking for a long
period in their life and say these guys
opinions matter point to who you think
won this battle
yeah in the battle is like three rounds
back and forth so two people doing their
moves or whatever I I don't know that
just to me doesn't pass the sniff test
in terms of
having good criteria to judge on words
like the Olympics you know or like
really anything any sport NBA combat
sports there's always like some kind of
criteria you can judge on mmm I feel
like breaking there's not because say
like I'm battling you and we do we have
completely different styles and say you
kill it and I kill it
neither of us flop both of us probably
do equally hard moves what happens who
how do you vote like you know really
what's gonna come down to this judge
says oh I like his style more so I'm
gonna vote for Queen
I like Curt style more I'm gonna vote
for him and then you have this you know
divided judging panel and then one of us
wins and then you say well why did I win
and he lose and they go I like your
style
and that's really it and it's like I
think when you have when the judging
system really breaks down when you get
to that point yeah it works well on the
lower tier where you got someone who's
good and someone who's bad and the bad
person is just crashing yeah it's like
that's the universal criterias if you
crash you lose right so it makes sense
there but when you get to this higher
level it just doesn't make any sense
anymore yeah it is really hard because
like gymnasts they're like they have a
routine already so you can tell if
they're messing up any other like
Olympic sport it's very very clear-cut
but when you're talking about dancing
it's like well I don't know it's kind of
like well I like this move better well I
like this move better and so you can't
really and whatever they're dredging is
like can you really fault them for
whatever their opinion is yeah I mean
you get that all the time where you have
a battle and then Rob this guy was Rob
this guy was robbed and your reason was
oh well I just like the other guy yeah
yeah well can you really grab yes
how do you really define it ya know I
mean cuz ultimately breaking is an art
form right yeah and so I guess if you
look at it if you compare it to another
art form like painting yeah you make a
painting I make a painting we're both
equally skilled artists right some
judges are coming and looking at it they
might go oh I like the wake wing used
brushstrokes on this in on this painting
yeah and then another guy goes oh but I
like the way Curt use color on this yeah
both of those opinions are valid Yeah
right
and they might they might you know the
guy that liked my color use looks maybe
looks at yours and goes oh yeah he
didn't quite hit the mark for me from
color use and maybe the guy that's
judging you that likes your brushstrokes
looks at me and goes oh yeah Curt didn't
really do brush strokes on them he
didn't use those to his advantage yeah
that's also a valid point so now you
just got this criteria that doesn't
really make any sense I think yeah so I
think that's where I'm at with Olympics
is you're trying to turn it into a sport
yeah when it's really an art form so and
I don't think that you that it's a bad
thing that you're they're trying to do
that and I think it's just a difficult
task to do because you're you know
you're gonna what you what you have to
do is essentially turn breaking into
some kind of gymnastics like thing mhm
so what the what gymnasts have done is
like for the for the floor routine
they'll go okay this is the moves that
we're gonna do on the floor routine and
you're gonna judge us on that yeah and
you know each move gets a certain amount
of points and you know then they got
this clear score in the end you know and
then if they flop or anything they get
deductions for that so there's a clear
score at the end of the routine that
they can get and then the next person
comes in they'll have a completely
unique routine too but then they also
give the routine to the judges they go
okay
we reviewed the moves you're gonna do
this is your possible score and you know
then they're just judging on deductions
and stuff after that Sam goddamn how
could you do that would be that's my met
sweaty right yeah um so I was like
judging it in the way of gymnastics I
think is out the door so now what about
judging it in terms of like combat
sports because in a way breaking is
similar to combat sports - because
you're going against an opponent you're
reacting to them you're also reacting to
the environment how do you do that I
mean in combat sports a lot of it is you
know they'll judge on like the aggressor
they'll judge on how many like strikes
hit or like a takedown or like someone
gets knocked down each of those things
is worth like some kind of point system
I don't know how you do that in breaking
though right like maybe maybe somewhere
in between the gym gymnastics and combat
sports is where you do it but I really
don't know how to mix that and so I
think a lot of people have tried to mix
it yeah and haven't got anywhere with it
so yeah because even the point systems
in like all right it's like there's an
underlying bias on all of them right
it's like what do you think of the r16
scoring yeah so that's Dizzy's yes
scoring system shout-out to dizzy cuz I
think he's doing a lot for this scene I
think he's he's making his way towards
the system because he's saying here's
the criteria it's yeah I think he says
foundation battle dynamics creativity
musicality creativity and musicality
yeah so each of those sound like good
criteria for judging but the underlying
bias is that every b-boy to be a beat
good b-boy you have to have all that but
maybe not yeah see that's my that's
where I differ because I think to myself
like do you sometimes I think you can
have an amazing round and do no
foundation I don't necessarily think you
have to do foot worker in yeah yeah yeah
right well yeah so like how do you
define each of those categories like
here's a good example um Susie Rock mhm
I love this dude style I would say I've
seen some rounds from him where they're
not particularly dynamic but they're
just like amazing they're just amazing
rounds he's just like such a good dancer
he's just he knows how to work the crowd
so based on that r16 judging system his
dynamics would
probably be low mm-hmm his musicality
would be high and you know against
somebody else maybe they don't score as
well you know I would think he's the
clear winner but I think the system kind
of breaks down when it's you know you
got a guy who's who's like that and then
a guy who's completely different and
they're scoring like really high on
these things
it's like how are you determining who's
better I mean in a way he uz rock is
doing some kind of dynamic stuff with
his musicality man right so does that
bleep you know how does that bleed into
each other those two criteria I don't
know yeah and then also what is good
what is good dynamics and what is bad
dynamics I think that's that comes down
to a subjective opinion on it and same
thing with all the other categories
what's good foundation with bad
foundation yeah right because it
inherently uses bias the way you think
because like you may come up with a
certain series of moves combos and I you
might think it's cool by things like I
well I could have thought of that yeah I
don't want to name any names here but
people were like it's like I don't get
why this guy's so popular like yes I
don't think it's that creative like I
don't think yes my mind blowing and it's
man like what so it's like at that point
system I mean I just inherently it's
just difficult to do well you know the
other thing is like the the the category
of creativity I I mean I can I can think
of a situation where someone would score
high in creativity but don't deserve it
so think of somebody who bit Oh move
right from some unknown guy but now
they're doing it on this huge stage so
yeah in a way this is the first time the
world has ever seen this move but this
guy bid heats he took the move from
someone else he stole it he didn't
create the move at all now he's scoring
high in creativity mm-hmm but he's not
creative he stole the movie bit so he
was rewarded for biting right uh you
know I I personally have a problem with
that name some names Kurt
wing ding oh no it was me all along J so
this is really sanity his own brother so
this is an intervention you just wanted
to bring me on to the show
stop call me buddy
bit your name I don't utter okay this
was in the other podcast so my finger
tutting name is Quang bang and then
there's actually a Glover name Quang
bang and then I posted in this group
leveling Glover's lounge and I was like
oh cool I'm posting my my video and then
one of the comments was like hey there's
already a quayne bang how's it all sure
he's like a billion times better than me
too yeah but you can do push it so oh
yeah the push-up guy he's the push um
Oh was I saying about the Olympics um
yeah so like the the criteria for
creativity kind of breaks down when it
well I guess a good judge on creativity
would have to have seen everybody and
what they're capable of and know exactly
who's biting and who's not so which is
not a reasonable thing to ask of a judge
cuz they're obviously not going to do be
able to do that so but I do think
creativity is a big important thing to
be judging on in breaking something it's
just I'm not against the r16 judging
system I just think that there's a lot
of ways that it breaks down and doesn't
quite work for what we want breaking to
be but I guess in the Olympics though if
it like imagine it became its own thing
like hypothetically if maybe you said
biting is okay yeah and then they went
into this realm and then you're judging
on that and
now you're you're kind of like you're
turning this artform into a sport where
you're saying okay now you have to
adhere to these specific rules and that
and that lets you compete in here so I
mean the thing I can think of is maybe
like skating how skating used to be
where it's just like the Wild West back
in like the 80s yeah and when it started
becoming like a actual sport they
started really defining what you do you
know and then it kind of branched out
from Street skating and vert skating and
so I mean I guess both of those are have
their own competitive worlds but um in a
way I think breaking will do that where
you it'll somehow turn into street
breaking and competitive breaking maybe
mm-hmm where the street breaking is just
kind of more of like what we do now
where it is maybe the wild west and yeah
and you're you're presenting it's I
guess this it's more of the art form of
it and in the competitive world is more
of the sport world of it man I think PBS
would hate that I think you always will
hate yeah but again I'm I don't think
I'm necessarily against it right I just
think that as it stands breaking doesn't
work as a sport and so putting it in the
Olympics I think there's a lot of work
ahead of everybody to get it to that
level or to get it to a point where it
can be easily judged and people and also
people watching would be able to
understand what's going on because I
mean imagine you don't know anything
about breaking and then I have a judging
panel of 10 people and then I go that
guy wins mm-hmm and you'd be like why
and then they go because I say so
which is essentially essentially what
judges that do now wait I don't think
that would go very well I mean yeah dude
so it's in what 2024 is in 2024 I think
you're gonna try it out look it I was
like I was like I'll be fucking cold by
them I fucking go for it fuck dude yeah
how's the old
I'll get smoked by about your kids like
I tried out for the Olympics I didn't
get very far though yeah the
ten-year-olds they'll be in the Junior
Olympics like oh ha ha
fuckers see their kids Steve I hope the
Olympics is threes enough there's some
good 30 year old I know actually yeah
actually Red Bull is it most I have no
idea how old they were
oh I mean aren't you the older guys
there yeah a lot of them are over 30 I
mean I would say half of them are
probably over 30 yeah which is so weird
because when I was when I first started
breaking hmm you know but not I was like
14 or something hmm everybody was in
their 20s and I was like these old
mother
ha ha ha ha yeah and then I see one 30
year old which I think he just turned 30
when I was starting to break which is
Provo and Rob nasty oh yeah you old
mother fuckers shout out to you guys but
no there was a couple other guys from
back then I think like iron monkey and a
couple others over like that age yeah
you know I was like it it blew my mind I
was like oh you could still break at
that age that's crazy
thank you now I'm that agent like Oh
everybody's this age and then I'm
looking at these like kids that were my
age back then yeah 14 or whatever and
I'm like these young little shits little
what is that the floss dance and so yeah
oh my god I'd learn a real dance you
guys play kickball guys play kickball
and then you do 15 air flares against me
in a battle you oh wait there's a guy
that taught you right Ted
like when he's hit what did you go ahead
oh yeah I was just gonna say Ted um he
was from my old crew flex Flav yeah and
he used to come to our high school and
he would just practice um just because
it was a spot there and he would just
teach us he was like
dude how old is he I think he was in his
like early 20s but he just he knew like
a couple of us so he would just come in
here like teach us and stuff and then
once I graduated he I would go to his
house and stuff and we just train in
whatever Oh what're they did you start
breaking um the girls women well okay
the first time I saw breaking with in um
pro wrestling was really called the WWF
back then and it was um was it the
spinaroonie - no no okay Booker T yes
before that guy oh it was um these two
guys named - cool and I can't remember
their names but wait was it Scotty 2
hotty Scotty 2 hotty oh yeah yeah the
word ridiculous yeah Scotty 2 hotty and
yeah bye anyway so like their special
move was the one they like set the guy
up yeah and then he would like do the
stupid-ass dance around the ring and
then do this big like his mom was really
tight but yeah the warm across the whole
the whole floor and then just you I
loved about WWE or WF it was just so
freakin ridiculous yeah like the biggest
fan of the rock he dude the more
ridiculous he was uh-huh
it's like the more I loved him like the
like the people's elbow when he when I
was watching was get off and throw out
the audience I would be screaming oh my
god the people's elbow yeah yeah anyway
run from one side of the Ring to the
other and just do a normal elbow drop I
was like how did running from one side
to the other help with the elbow drop
like how does that help with the
momentum yeah I don't I don't think it
does
it was just absurd and then you just
make fun of people and his shit-talking
was amazing is on point
probably the greatest shit talker of all
time I don't know of anybody better
right I mean I think in a way like cuz I
I guess in the UFC there's a lot of
people that are starting to do that now
I think they take a lot of cues from the
rock from the way he used because he was
he would shit talk so hard right and the
crowd would just get get in eat it up so
ridiculous and what they do and like and
the thing is like the more ridiculous
the rock cot with what he did that
people's eyebrows like but people just
fucking ate it up
so well the EOC I think like Conor
McGregor's yeah right he's that he's
like the number one yeah
and then people mimic but think it's
there was a guy before him Chael Sonnen
he was but he was he was very WWWE esque
he was very like though it was very
corny I loved it like I was a huge fan
but I think at the time he was like the
number one selling fighter even though
he was never a champion but he was such
a good shit talker good talk and then
but then you have Conor McGregor come in
and then they're like it's a kick from
dude and then people were at first were
saying oh Conor McGregor is just trying
to be like Chael Sonnen they used to say
that but now everyone's saying every
time a new fighter comes up and starts
to chuckling people just say oh he's
just trying to be like Conor McGregor
was like Bru shit-talking has been
around for a long time talking was with
Conor McGregor know it's been around for
men were out there talking shit dude
remember so we used to dance with this
person Oh Candice Candice Candice
brother her brother yeah yes oh yeah
yeah that guy is amazing shit talk dude
he's an amazing fighter yeah he was he
was like the thing is like people were
like um thing is people were like would
hate on him cuz it's like oh he's just
trying to be like Conor McGregor but
dude it works they keep us he talked
himself well I mean he's he's still
really he's a mate he's really a good
fighter and now he he's just being like
he's like the rock yes I was like dude
nobody fucking worked because you know
in an interview right well I don't know
if this is sure and I assume it is but
in an interview he was talking about how
the UFC was about to cut him right and
then like he got on the mic and he was
like talking shit to Bruce
Brazilians like this place is a dump you
guys are animals world war and sin the
moment and that became like a cut in his
promo and then that men they resigned
him i think i think is what happened
that is hell yeah it was like you gotta
fucking do it
cuz yeah i didn't watch it much of his
fight but I mean did you watch this man
fight I didn't watch dude well I knew
the results I was I was rooting for
coming tonight because well we kind of
know where I met it we used to work with
the Sooners his sister so I was rooting
for him but then my god dude they're
both really high level wrestlers
so who's mins uh was Division two
champion and then covington was he was
in the division one but he was ranked
five at the time so he was like really
high up so it's like but when they
fought they were just fuckin swinging
yes yeah like people were saying like
for how good the fight was yeah it
wasn't very it wasn't very excited like
people weren't cheering as much
initiative but dude I don't know if you
know this but like he he like Guzman
broke his jaw dude so he broke his jaw
in the third round and Covington still
kept fighting oh I was like what a
fuckin badass even even if you hate him
right but he's doing it he's moving the
needle he's doing it he's keeping his
career he's getting paid so he's doing
his thing
but even if you even for the people who
were hating on him people were happy
that he had brought his jaw broken but
the fact that he kept going till round
five dude that was like if someone slap
seemed like a stop you win like the guy
kept fucking fighting that's brutal
have you ever oh a key you used to do
martial arts yeah yeah dude
the thing is I would I I was a I was a
yellow belt that's as far as I got in
karate I was like I always loved
watching fighting I was like I would
never fucking do it dude it's dangerous
I did Taekwondo was like I feel I feel
like I mean I feel like every match we
would do I'd see someone get knocked out
dude I was like so fucking brain-dead
actually even for breaking I'm like dude
some of these moves like the guys are
doing what the fuck are you doing that's
brain damage like dude you probably have
a
cushion right now you probably know like
it's a cool some of the moves they do
plus I do that's really so I'm like I
love watching it I mean that's wipe the
allure of double usually really exciting
I'm like yeah kidding I would I loved I
love the storylines I mean yeah fuck him
up rock given the people's elbow give me
give me the eyebrow yeah fuck above
which is basically just a hug in all it
is it's it's kinda like a a chokeslam
except you're hugging him instead yeah
it's a hug dude the what what I loved uh
was it he was that famous the famous sir
the famous I was like dude my um bad ass
Billy good my brother my brother and
some of my friends were used to
wrestling moves on each other
yeah my brother did the pedigree on me
once my nose is bleeding is like god
dammit
yeah oh but me my friend I had a friend
and um growing up where we do the Stone
Cold Stunner on each other we're just
like randomly like like oh actually
that's a perfect move of like dude what
does that move even do like like at the
time I was a kid I was like puzzles like
well how does that hurt someone know
eginning grip are they getting whiplash
is that what it is is that what it is
was like itse trying to break cuz I
don't think that's a good way to know I
was like I was really possible as like
wait or is it because like they're
hugging they hit the shoulder hits the
chin is that why I was like I don't but
it's hyper shit oh okay you're the movie
I love when the rock like when he's
slapping you and then he spits on his
head and they slap so fucking ridiculous
you know what the most ridiculous oh it
was well there's two of them then I can
yeah is mankind's mr. Socko dicks it
down your throat yeah never made sense
to me cuz I was like yeah it's a dirty
ass sock so yeah you're probably gonna
get some diseases yeah yeah why don't
you just bite his hand I know like it
just didn't makes it like he's trying to
like yeah I guess strangle you in a very
terrible way I guess he's opening up
your jaw
really I don't know but like is it gonna
break your jaw or something yes like
your jaw is probably way stronger than
his fingers so just bite him anybody do
that next like why is this my special so
there's that move that never made sense
and then do you remember Rikishi oh my
god I was that's exactly what I'll
fucking stinkface you just he just
throws you to the corner yeah he just he
always worked he's like this big dude I
don't know how much you weigh he's
probably like 400 pounds yeah
but he like he wears this like song
thing and like well I know and he has
this curtain over his ass and he and he
just shows his song ass and he just
sticks it in their face and then just
like rut he like he like torque so fast
cheeks and their disaster like bigger
than that body yeah and it's like on the
dude just like dude I hope these guys
got paid like I'm just imagine if I was
like a wrestler yeah they're like you
got a fight Rikishi and I'm like dude
his ass is going on my face ass is on
the menu tonight
have you ever so there was one that was
viral but like he wasn't this guy wasn't
famous the dude dressed up like Michael
Jackson he got into it he so he dressed
up as Michael Jackson he got the guy in
a DDT like when you're having a headlock
and then he does the moonwalk backwards
and they do like how ridiculous is it
and then I saw another one dude it's so
stupid but I was like but like I loved
it it was like so fucking funny and then
there's another guy where I think I
could get this wrong but he does this
thing with his hands so he makes it look
like oh no Mortal Kombat when their days
like I love it yeah that's one of the
old school ones I think oh oh actually
was he famous it was I don't remember
okay it was like it was on one of those
smaller it wasn't on WWE yeah but but
yeah dude oh yeah I know that was like
so okay the walls of Jericho
right that one yeah yeah oh when we were
wrestling growing up I fuckin love doing
the walls of Jericho did you ever see a
video there's a guy that actually did it
in an MMA fight and the guy tapped out
Oh for real he's like oh my god that
move actually works yeah no frills you
can look it up like the walls like what
the fuck I used to do it I did it to my
cousin once yeah cuz we used to just try
wrestling moves and I did it to him and
he was like look like it hurt yeah yeah
I don't know I mean I can imagine you go
far enough it hurts well you ain't gonna
work on some people yeah cuz they just
flexible as shit but dude what when
we're on the Kings and the words we used
to do this powerbomb move all the time
this is the powerbomb so one time Kurt
and I were in a competition and so what
happened so it was so we were business
time crew they're all in suits and we
were in Seattle yeah massive monkeys
massive yeah so so Kurt we're all
wearing suit and ties so Kurt was doing
his round and so the routine was night
before they thought you were like
planted on the other side you're wearing
like a burglar I was I was wearing I was
wearing a ski mask yeah I had a black
jacket on and so when Kurt went out and
they were like it looked like they're in
the middle of a routine and I pretended
to be on the other team so I run out Oh
a routine I run out and I push you and
then so you yeah it was a narrow and
Carlos we're doing a routine yeah yeah
and you run out and you're like no
routine and then and then I like I jump
out on bullying what the hell man I push
you away and I start breaking like oh
yeah we're gonna lose this you're like
let's just go and then and then you come
up and kick me in the stomach but but
then you punch me in the face and then I
land and I complete like a flatline like
I said yeah yeah but at first the funny
part was like the emcee was like chill
chill shot yeah yeah they thought it was
really shit
real and then the public and then you
push me to fit in there it landed like
completely dead and it was like oh and
then they and I know the rest of the
crew pulled me off em seems like you got
smoked and they just know it was so
funny because what right when we started
it people thought it was real oh there's
a fight about to happen yeah
like losers with these ties and the crew
that you were hiding that the guys we
were going against they just didn't know
what the hell is in the yeah the
reaction from the MC was socialism it
was Joe from NASA monkeys he's he's a
real dope host you know dope b-boy he
was he was there and he's like oh no Joe
yeah and then like as soon as that he
sees me punch you and you just drop on
your back yeah yeah it's just like we
got the judges to laugh we still lost
though we know we won that but we all
nevermind we lost the next battle again
Oh
Now or Never right okay okay yeah they
seem to be doing pretty well right now
all right
I think how do you kind of yeah I mean
they're they're good they're one of the
better crews in Canada Vancouver I think
is in Canada right yeah they're dope I
think they're really good yeah um yeah
they're making noise I don't I haven't I
mean I haven't really kept up with the
breaking scene too much in terms of like
who's winning the local right yeah but
I'm sure there's they're still doing
their thing dude I most of my breaking
that I see is just fucking on Instagram
I just scrolling I'm like dude
everyone's like a billion times better
than me yeah I think what am i doing
with myself I should just quit get
smoked by every single person on the
fucking little kids doing fucking hello
to thousands and stuff or air flares one
handers as a Jesus Christ yeah dude I'm
lucky if I get to air fleurs under good
you used to have three I remember about
I'm the day yeah and then
I've hurt this my right now older and I
lost them all yeah started getting him
back I got like that was up to like to
maybe know what you didn't do before
I've seen it ya know yeah I've done I
think I did four oh shit point yeah but
I so but I mean throughout my life I've
had between zero and four yeah and it's
been like continuous just like losing
them yeah getting him back yeah so but I
think when the most I had was like four
and then I busted his shoulder and lost
all of it yeah had to had to train again
to get I was probably about two and then
I hurt my left shoulder Oh Danny
opposite shoulder and so then I lost
that and then this this injury is like
kind of bad yeah it's I don't know I
don't know if it'll ever be good again
but I kind of do maybe like two you
probably can yeah yeah I'm real control
man I do for Barry back in Davis I used
to like in-between classes I was like
I'm gonna get airflows I'm gonna get him
do I practice most of my time trying to
get ear flares and I was just stuck on
to the whole time like fuck fuck it was
like I actually gave up I was like dude
I couldn't I couldn't getting better at
all these other things and I chose to
stick with Air Force I God why did I do
this I really wanted them though but and
then I'm never getting like more one
time I think was like senior year and
then and then there was a bunch of new
people I was like I'm a fucking dude in
front of everybody and that hell
adrenaline and then I was like oh my god
I feel I was I did the second one and
then I went through there was like oh my
god oh yeah that was like two and a half
and I was like oh my god I figured it
out but then I never did yeah we were
saying that so I like started settles
like I don't think I'm gonna do
continuous air flows let me just try to
get continuous would military flares the
thing is like we were talking about this
we're in breaking to be like it's just
people perceive you as power you have to
have air flow like an air flow or align
it if you don't do an air flare they're
like
he's he's got good ground no you'll
never be good at policy that's why I was
like I want to do windmills to air
flares and get those consistently or
flare to air flare consistently because
if you combo was like oh he's he's no
longer the push-up guy he has more to
offer to me oh well you didn't hear in
the other podcast but today did he
mention me already this one in the
push-up guy the push-up guy thing yes
yeah wing there's a lot of push-ups in
so he's a push-up guy yeah so I do this
legless push-up thing and I was saying
in the other podcast that wasn't
recorded so we're we doing this
so what happened was I I was dancing for
the Kings and then okay I was dancing
for the Kings and I people just loved
when I did the pushing move where my
legs were off the floor and then I was
like as a dancer like I spent all this
time I have all these moves but all
everyone wants from me is the fucking
push-up move do that push it move yeah
and then my friends would introduce me
acquaintances would introduce me and
then actually not only would they tell
them they'll be like quake do it right
now do the push it was like okay over
I'll do the quick Oh dance mummy monkey
dance
people would people would randomly stop
me in the street like hey aren't you
that push-up guy like fuck man
don't you have I have all these other
moves but don't you want to see that
moves like no do the push-up movie up
guys you have a lot more just do the
push-up actually so I recently um was
breakdancing for like my company asked
me was like so they they highlight um a
employee each each week and so one of
the girls was like hey Quang can you for
the you know the All Hands meeting could
you break dance I was like yeah sure
I'll practice in small actually practice
in this room I was a yeah practice in
small spaces
cuz it wasn't very a lot so I was like
you know what maybe I'll just something
that bothers me I don't know why bother
feel like sometimes when people ask me
to break I just do the push-up move and
that's it
and I'm like no wonder they keep will
call me the post ship guys that's all I
fucking do and you ask me to break I was
like the go-to move the go-to move
so I was like packing and then when they
asked me I was like I thought to myself
so I'll just do the push-up and
windmills and make it easy and then
thought to myself like no quayne
preparing this stay no clang this is all
your fault this is why they call you the
pushy guy this is all you fucking do so
I was like I'm gonna fucking blow it up
and then so I was like I was like
practicing like dude I was like running
moves over and over it was like it was
like we were back at the words whereas a
rehearsal team I kept practicing the
moves over and over as like I'm not
gonna be called the push-up guy I'm
gonna do fucking everything and so when
it when I actually did it
when I say dude I was hella nervous like
because that's like I was putting a lot
of pressure myself I'm like no dude I'm
not the push-up guy I'm a brick more
than just that one move dude my I was
actually you happen I knew it was coming
and he was coming
ten minutes before our meeting I was
practicing in the hallway I'll be like
looking around like it's like new moves
in the hallways like I'm not gonna fuck
this up they're not gonna tell a nervous
cause like the whole company's looking
like like our office the CEO the
higher-ups the people in the Denver
office and then some remote people
everyone's good they're all there
everyone was looking or there was like
because the thing is like everyone when
I got hired everyone's like oh quaint
dances for the Warriors yes but they
never saw me break in person I was like
dude the expectation is so fucking high
if I come out and I'm a mediocre they're
gonna think I suck oh he's he's a
where's dancer Oh and so when they when
they introduced me like Wayne's been
dancing since he was 13 he tends to
three seasons for the Kings three
seasons for the worst I was like saying
the back there I was like my heart was
racing like oh my god clink don't fuck
this up that's like the whole day don't
fuck this up don't fuck this up don't
fuck this up
you'll never be anything more than a
push-up guy Oh like you know you know if
someone if you do something and you suck
people will tell you oh good job nice
right but luckily that didn't happen
this time so what like they're like okay
so we have a special performance and
then Gladys like my coworker Mike moved
the table I was like what's happening
and this is like she's like let me give
you a clue so when I asked this person
to perform he said sure I'll do it I'll
practice in small spaces and then she's
like could you guess who it is
and then like Kwang
and it's like oh my god it's happening I
was like it's like you know like when
you professor oh my god fuck fuck it's
actually it's actually more
nerve-wracking than some of the Warriors
performances on I was like oh my god all
this pressure like oh the Warriors break
dancers oh good
and so when I got up like I was it's
like I was like walking up I was like
you guys are making me nervous oh my god
and then like I was just like you know I
had I had an idea before just to get a
reaction by doing nothing you know I did
so I just got to the middle I just I
just walked in the middle I kneeled down
like this like all dramatic i unzipped
my jacket this exact jacket and then
threw it so the jacket like that itself
got hello how's your boss in my face my
boss
oh you haven't liked when I tossed it I
wasn't even looking it went over like a
like one of the founding members it went
over his head like this nearly like
nearly missed his Havok Shh and then in
the end like my boss said that was like
the best part like it was like oh and
then and then I did my routine and that
is it's like dude I fucking threw
everything I feel like a billion I feel
like I want to say like I think seven
ish moves yeah and then like and then I
bought like the CEO like her face was
red like she was like cheering so much
she's like I was like in my bag is like
yes it's like yes no longer hey end up
doing the push-up move however however
the good part about this story is they
just said like oh great job blah blah
blah they loved it but they didn't say
and I like that push-up move no one said
that
back at the Kings they would all war is
oh just you gotta do that push-up move
but this time it was kind of redeeming
else it's like oh my god I've made it
I'm more than just a push-up guy now I'm
more than just him it was my fault this
entire phoenix rising from the ashes I'm
amazing so this is an example I brought
up earlier where imagine if you're an
actor right and you're famous and you
care about your craft you're you're
practicing your crap you really care
you're trying really hard but you're
known for one line like what you talking
about Willis
okay think about that's exactly what
you're talking about that that's me
could you imagine everyone on the
streets or Oh a gate Oh imagine being
the rock do that eyebrow thing do that
eyebrow
oh you're the eyebrow guy he probably
fucking hates it actually I love your
story earlier that wasn't recording with
the Montell Jordan one there'd be a lot
of celebrities that would come in and do
you know like music performances or
whatever and so one time Montell Jordan
came to perform for halftime show and um
we were watching him rehearse and he was
singing the this is how we do and like
you know he's kind of dancing but he had
sunglasses on he kind of took him off
for a second and I could see in his eyes
like that he was just deeply saddened
[Laughter]
basically performing this song every
performance for his entire career which
is like he made a song in like early 90s
or whatever yeah it's like 5020 like
this is crazy just collecting a paycheck
I mean it's a tight song then org I know
that see that would attract me Creek
actually so that's why also he's the
push okay another story that we told on
the other one so when I was at the Kings
there was this guy he was the emcee at
the Kings and what happened was every
time I went out he would introduce me he
would say this the strongest arms in
Sacramento he's like well I don't even
live here but okay so one time he did it
the strongest arms of Sacramento and I
thought to myself like no I'm not gonna
do the move I'm gonna do this spinning
move instead I have more than just a
motion and so what happens is like after
our performance is done we walk into the
tunnel it's like hey Quinn can I talk to
you he pulls me aside
he's like quang when I say the strongest
arms in Sacramento
you have to do the pushup move in a nice
way you have to do I was like I was like
he's like yeah man when when you started
doing spins like what is this guy doing
do the push like fuck and that you're
not the spin guy what are you doing stop
trying to break character character who
do you think you are
why are you trying to show off that
you're more versatile than you are you
know stop it quit it up oh oh yeah this
is like a totally random story so one
time I was at Burning Man right yeah and
this band was playing and like this guy
was so bad was a band was playing in the
in the playa the dust and then this guy
walks up and like he's wearing like just
underwear that has like holes in it
they're like mesh underwear so he he's
like what you could see is dude I'm
pretty sure I saw his dude I saw a lot
of doodles at Burning Man a lot of
doodles it's doodle town doodle man yeah
so what happens like dude I wish I could
show have this on camera but for those
of us that are just listening he was
doing this weird dancing he's like
moving around like like no the trunk
white guy as freaky barbecue he's like
waving around I pretty sure like at one
point he was like rolling on the floor
he's doing random motions like oh yeah
okay think about in like a dramatic to
interpretive dance with modern and
modern dance it was like there's just
but you do random yeah she's right it's
like and then someone was like I heard
someone behind missing oh my god
it's so emotional you know they're
Yellin right I mean so Lynn Lynn turns
to me and she says plain what kind of
dance is he doing I was like Lynn he's
not doing anything
dude he looks like he was on acid he's
doing random oceans and I was like I was
like I was like Lynn and then Lynn's
like well how do you know I was like
dude Alayna he was Lynn um I've been
dancing for over half my life I think I
know
know when someone's not doing anything
like what the fuck he's not doing shit
oh my god it's so emotional so I know
ever the line that line it was like what
the hell oh my god yes
emotional oh my god viewing oh my god is
so - it touches my soul he's literally
doing nothing oh my oh shut the fuck up
so oh my god next time I MC a jam I'm
about to do that what do you do my god
it's so emotional oh my god the emotions
the emotions I mean III guess he's not
wrong there's probably some emotion I
know I used high on drugs that's what he
was he's feeling the high from the drugs
that was the emotion here this guy's
literally doing nothing yeah actually I
told Kevin this story a long time ago
like Beck and Davis right yeah isn't
called modern dancing where they're just
doing random stuff
what is it cool I mean I guess that's
contradict interpretive interpretive
okay something like yeah I don't know I
mean yeah see modern dance the
philosophy of it is that you're making
like shapes with your body and there's
not necessarily like a certain form
you're supposed to do right so okay so
it probably fits into there okay so what
happened was I did one of those I was I
can let's see how it is yeah just just
to see how it is and so the dance
instructor right she gave the hero her
instructions okay you three start moving
okay and then you other three what
you're gonna do is you're gonna follow
them but don't do their movements so
you're gonna sounds like wait so you
want them to follow them but also not
follow them
oh I don't see oh and so they were just
doing random shit right just like like
the same thing like asking a guy just
rolling around the floor us it's like
what the hell is this and then and then
and then you know she says oh my god
it's brilliant
okay the next group 3 and 3 right the
next crew comes in J'son gives them the
same instructions okay you three
two movements you other three follow
them but don't follow them okay in the
same shit just a bunch of random and
then you have there doing it right just
like I don't get it like they're both
doing nothing I don't fucking nothing I
was like oh my god I was like my mind
was blown dude there dude what if she
just said that to fuck with oh I know
she's like a troll yes yeah like it's
fucking brilliant
but you cling I don't that's that's what
they pay me for I don't it was terrible
Wow awful what are you doing oh my god
calling them oh my god you know it'd be
funny if there was a TV show like that
like just like completely aware you had
like a Simon Cowell type of person who's
just like but he's like trolling
everybody I just I didn't feel the
essence of your performance blah blah
blah good really funny show
especially if yeah if if it's like
someone who's killing it in their
performance than the last guy just like
yeah I don't get it
there aren't there is actually a singing
show I didn't if you heard of it I think
was on The WB or something where like
people like they were finding the worst
singer America so they they lie to the
people saying like you're good have you
heard that show no okay dirty as fuck
but that's hilarious dude yeah so they
were just like all these bad people that
were horrible and then they would they
would just keep you know same thing as
American Idol except they'd pick and
they were just feeding these lies these
judges but for the like for some people
that auditioned that we're actually
really good I remember one of the
comments was like yeah it sounded like
you had like diarrhea or something but
he was actually amazing so it is like
Kylie aligned with you
oh my god oh man this is like your
stringer boy oh my god seems like you
were like
I ate it or something oh damn yeah I was
like oh my god it was so sad and oh my
and then the reveal happens like Oh
actually you know it's um it's not we
didn't find the best singer in America
we actually found the worst singer in
America I think I was like but to come
to counter that the singing was like but
the you know it's not fake the the love
this audience has for you and then they
started cheering for him I was like I'm
so sure he feels like shit yeah I was
like cut the next day he like kills
himself I know dude that's like so
embarrassed oh my god oh my god okay
talking about Edition actually I know a
fisherman in this story anyways someone
that we owe actually notice would give
it away okay no but like okay change
okay but you know like um so you're
thinking it dance right we've had some
friends I have auditioned but this one
friend in particular like he's actually
a really good dancer and should he just
name names
okay who's not change their name okay
okay so John was dancing but one of our
other friends Jimmy was watching him and
like so the way they cut it like so
Jimmy said like John was actually doing
well and and the judges gave him good
feedback it's just he they just felt
like he didn't mix well together yeah
but during the actual like when they cut
the tapes and they were showing
commercials and then they made him look
like he was really bad without really
showing much of what he was doing and
felt like and and then the I think
something long was like and then some
people just couldn't cut it like hopping
on his ass but like apparently he did
really well but the way they cut it they
made him look like he was really bad
like and then some people just couldn't
cut it I saw our friend I was like oh no
and then like later on as he few clips
later and then like in a few clips later
they show they have a microphone to his
face and he was like it wasn't no
talking about
I feel so bad from because dude he's
actually a really good deal really good
oh dude I was like dude this is why I
mean we've um we've auditioned for some
things before yes like dude I hope we
don't fake in me I fucking swear to god
I hope we don't make the blooper reel
blah blah blah hey remember this um this
one I wish get on camera but for those
people can't listen you can't really see
this dance move but you know that move
where you like do this you push your
head back yeah it's like you're pushing
it's like you're looking like a robot
yeah and then I do this and then like I
hold like this in front of me and you
know when we're auditioning for a BDC
yeah I'm fucking you cuz I did that I
did it I did a competition you fucking
blew up people fucking loved it but when
when I did it on camera it was like oh
my god oh my god I fucking embarrass
myself I hope this is finished every
services I thought that was so funny
though I love that movie I actually
bring it back so the Kings a snack and I
fucking I went against I think Sychar
side shot I thinks I was a gay he dances
for that job yeah so either he's really
a dancer but he's like he was doing more
like popping and krumping kind of stuff
and so I was a b-boy so it was an all
styles competition so when I you did
that yeah and then and then like so I
popped a little bit oh my god it's
fucking awful I should have never done
the popping part but they actually cut
it a little bit during that - I was just
trying something I can do it - and then
I ended that popping sequence with that
movie moment and I got the whole like my
oh my whole like two rounds that I did
like I'm gonna push that clip actually
part of me wants to post that clip on my
Instagram but then like a couple of my
bosses follow me on Instagram so I did
so fucking inappropriate dude I've made
some questionable decisions in my life
like some things like I like oh my god
some shits on the internet and how
embarrassed is me to look back on it
like the Quang Bang thing this is become
I'm running joke but I actually paid
someone to write an e-book for me and
you wrote it a hundred percent no I
wrote it I wrote the book so it was like
amazing ways to make money and then I
does the book but I thought to myself
you know what I kind of like this name
Quang
that's like it's my brand that's who I
am and then like in the night on the
book it says authored by Quang Bang I
was like yeah I love this name and this
is like and then like looking back is
like that was really fucking stupid
people one time okay Lin Lin again so
Lin was like you know what use like
she's talking to max her husband's like
yeah you know I want to buy this book to
support Quang the book was like three
books like you two or three people
bought it pity buys I post on Facebook
and then Max is like no don't buy that
book it's a joke it's not real it's
often quaint bang I was like looking
back it's like god dammit why did I do
that I just I keep it up now I was like
man that post hella embarrasses me I was
like no it's it's funny I'll keep it up
babe we should do is just say oh it was
a joke the whole time
yeah fucking brilliant so if anyone's
listening amazing ways to make money by
coin babe buy it on Amazon for 99 cents
I've shameless plug I've ya know I read
it and I made money do that you were you
were thinking in the clearest of minds
yeah shout out shout out to that book
anyways I think that's probably a good
way to okay so um anyways uh this is my
good friend Quang and do you have any
closing remarks amazing ways to make
money by Quang going by the book on
Amazon now yeah
have you made money from dude so I paid
some guy $100 to white Oh 127 and then
like three people bought the book at
like 99 cents so you lost money so so
I'm teaching people how to make money
and then I just lost my office book that
you people how to make money so the
irony hey well the Hustle is real thanks
for being here make that money dude
alright man alright thanks guys
