Happy Bunny Day! Here we explore the famous Exodus story of Passover (later a cornerstone of Catholic and Christian belief, as they choose to re-interpret the "lamb" and "blood" part; "Easter"). Here is our transition from theories of of ethics that claim ethics is an arbitrary invention to theories of ethics that understand ethics as an objective reality. There is a fact of what is right and wrong, and the opinions of you, me or us do not determine it. So: There are two kinds of theories of ethics: Invention theories and Object Truth theories. Objective Truth Theories allow us to answer the nihilist about ethics at an entirely new level. One that can succeed, unlike the invention theories; subjectivism and its collectivist twin, cultural relativity. The issue before us not whether there is a god; it is how does objective ethics work? This story helps us think about that. And it is appropriate to the season. Easter and Passover.
