Amy is an expert in female hormonal health and training. She lives in Vancouver, Canada. In this conversation, Amy shares her journey through gymnastics, hockey, competitive olympic lifting, movement culture and beyond.
We initially met through the APA program run by @johntmarsh - and Amy strikes me as someone who had a great ability to ask deep questions - both to herself and to others. Her own struggles with identity, training and energy has led her to develop her own unique approach to working with natural energy cycles - namely, the menstrual cycle. She now helps educate others on this topic via workshops and through her own Embodied Warrior Woman program.
This episode is great for those wanting to find out more about female specific training and challenges - including periods, nutrition and my ongoing favourite - energy balance. As a male, this is extremely interesting to find out how life is really like “on the other side”, and has got me to reconsider how I manage my own energy.
