The Downward Facing Spiritual Spiral
Society & Culture:Philosophy
Do you see the Fox News logo and immediately jump to conclusions? When you see a story in the New York Times, have you already made a judgement about the article before reading it? Today on the Spiritual Spiral, I am excited to welcome Health Freedom Advocate, Laurie Cohen Peters to the show. Laurie is involved in sustainable agriculture and she has worked with the Non GMO movement. She also started her own non-profit to support sustainable farmers. I first found out about Laurie just a couple weeks ago when a mutual friend suggested I should follow her on Facebook. If you've listened to my show, you probably know by now how I've questioned and been curious about how our culture has reacted to the coronavirus. And it's becoming clear if anyone questions it on social media or thinks it may be an overreaction, you're often labeled a hater or your post is simply taken down off of Facebook. Laurie has been incredibly active on social media sharing stories and viewpoints that go against what the media is telling you but I believe she is sharing a perspective worth paying attention to. We talk about the response to the coronavirus and what has inspired her to become so vocal on Facebook. We also talk about the good and bad of social media and the importance of staying objective and what it means to experience cognitive dissonance. It's an insightful talk and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. If you enjoy the show, there are a few things you can do that would be incredibly helpful. Please share the shows with your friends or head on over to iTunes and write a quick review. You can also support the show by visiting my Patreon page at patreon.com/eddiecohn. Thanks so much for listening and supporting the show.
