Ok, so let’s give more of a clinical definition of Working Memory and then get into some specifics of application to help our kids get better with this skill. In the book The Impulsive, Disorganized Child, the authors give this definition: “...the ability to hold on to information previously learned so it can be used in the future or to complete a task at hand. Ideally, working memory brings together newly learned information in short-term memory with information in long-term memory to guide actions.” (pg. 57)
