The people demand systemic change NOW, even as they continue their protests across the nation against social, political and economic oppression, and systemic racism--the centuries-old pillars of organized American life. 

 

But many leaders are playing both sides. They espouse solidarity with popular action, but they're not openly supporting their constituents.
