I have three children – one girl and two boys. I have done my utmost to be a good role-model by living my truth with intuitive eating and modelling good self-esteem and body acceptance. However, to a 14 year old girl (my lovely daughter) – of course, Mum’s opinions or behaviours are not her prime concern right now. Her friends are dieting and she's bonding with them in doing this. She is finding her own path and separating (as she should be) from me and forging an identity. But, how do I deal with this in a healthy way? How do I stop my own eating disorder history and life experiences from interfering with her journey? How do I stay calm and keep the communication open? Here I share my 3 tips in managing this.
