Matthew 5:8
The ultimate blessing and eternal privilege of the saints is knowing God. Knowing God and Jesus Christ is eternal life (John 17:3). Fellowship with God will be our eternal joy. Another way to describe the reality of this relationship with God is by saying we will see God. Revelation 22:4 says, “they will see his face.” Theologians call this the beatific vision. This weekend we will look at this highest of all doctrines and see what Jesus means when he says, “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matt 5:8).
