One of my favorite books is “The Good Earth“ by Pearl Buck.
The protagonist is a young Chinese man named Wang Lung Who goes from starvation and rags to wealth and abundance.
In Chinese society during the time of Wang Lung, male children are favored highly whereas girl children are often referred to as “slaves” -- someone who must be raised and endured before selling her to become a wife of the highest bidder.
To their great joy, Lung and his wife give birth to a son but rather than showing him proudly to the world the diminish his presence out of fear that in some form of great reckoning the universe will take him from them.
We all have similar fears: “don’t aim too high so it won’t hurt so bad when you inevitably fall” and this limits our happiness and success.
If you’re ready to aim high and achieve even higher, this JumpStart is for you.
