On Tuesday's "The Extra", Colorado Springs Utilities' CEO Aram Benyamin joined host Shannon Brinias to discuss the recently-approved "Sustainable Energy Plan, which followed more than a year of extensive public process and technical analysis. Through this plan, CSU plans to reduce carbon emissions at least 80% by 2030 and 90% by 2050 and decommission all coal generation by 2030 and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, including the Drake Power Plant by 2023. Critical to that process will be sourcing replacement generation for coal. More information can be found at csu.org/Pages/.
