Business:Marketing
This episode gives you an incredible insight into the concept of busy-ness, finding stillness, keeping occupied during our twigh-light years and impact of not finding meaning or loosing your sense of purpose. Something Covid19 has challenged many people with.
Supported by the Local Business Awards and Precedent Productions.
It is dedicated to our busy mums and dads, the ageing population and those businesses that provide valuable services to the community to keep people connected and understanding their true worth.

Gracie Young, Owner of @nuckleheads cafe at 61 Waratah Street Kirrawee welcomed us into the @billiesixessafari showroom space with @thelittlemarionette coffee. Hear how she chose to get busy during Covid19, her strategies to not only help her business but the ones that benefited the community who were facing the challenges of unemployment and homelessness.
We spoke with Sammy from @stillwithsammy. Hear her journey from burnt out corporate to stillness coach running weekly meditations and one on one guidance to find inner peace regardless of what's going on in your life. Our online listeners had some great questions for her, and Sammy provided two fantastic pieces of advice for those feeling the overwhelm and loss of identity that comes with creating a life of calm.
We heard the interview with Stacey Tryon from Ageing Well Sorted, an advocacy consultant helping our older population sort their affairs and plan for life stages. Stacey had two great tips to keep our ageing sector connected to their community and find purpose as work and family commitment start to slow down. She told us about three community centres that offer valuable courses in technology and life that will keep them busy and engaged.
We invited the CEO of Kingsway Care, Brook Stewart in for a coffee and chat but he chose the hot chocolate. Brook shared his journey to becoming the director of Kingsway Care and facilitating community programs that provide food, clothing and shelter for our vulnerable and marginalised population. We were able to get a real sense of his commitment and dedication to this calling and found those connections to @projectyouth, @menaicentral, @thetradies, @thedandelionsupportnetwork and @stvincentdepaul who support the work he and his team are doing.
Kingsway Care offers housing solutions and a milestones program for girls 16-20 @jaccarandacottage. 'We want to know they are valuable and important.
They also support @platformnine, crisis housing for adults fleeing domestic violence situations.
@southerncrosskidsclub provides support and respite for high risk primary school aged children with mentoring and an annual camp.
@seechangeopshop in Jannali is a commercial store that takes donations and raises money through sales of second hand items to support their programs.
Brook also played our 5 Second Rule Game at the end and has a wicked sense of humour. We'd love to have him back to discuss more on this important topic.
Sarah-Jo from @so_shire is a big support of @seechange as it goes to the heart of recycling, reusing and repurposing unwanted items. We shared some of the tips on their website www.soshire.org that cafes are taking on board to reduce waste and save money during these difficult times, that is also kinder to the environment.
We announce the finalists of The Local Business Awards in the suburb of Kirrawee. Our good news reminded us to nominate your Nurse and Midwife of the Year at www.health.nsw.gov.au/nursing/enma
Pip share her connection to nurses and the Sutherland Hospital and Amanda recalls her childhood memories of The Camilla Gardens as the Sutherland Shire Council celebrate the milestone of 50 years this week.
