1 Cor. 7:7 Now for the matters you wrote about: “It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman.” 2 But since sexual immorality is occurring, each man should have sexual relations with his own wife, and each woman with her own husband. 3 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. In the same way, the husband does not have authority over his own body but yields it to his wife. 5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 6 I say this as a concession, not as a command.

render what is due your spouse… this word is used to describe the betrayal of Jesus by Judas… he did not fulfill his duty as a disciple. it has a strong cadence to it.
WHAT IS DUE? SEX… YES BUT THAT IS ONLY PART OF THE PICTURE.
This word means to direct ones mind to that subject, to think on them, to understand them, to know them.
FULL DEFINITION: You study what your husband or wife needs and you try to fulfill it physically, emotionally, mentally etc…
IT IS WHAT YOU VOWED TO DO OR YOU ARE ACTUALLY BETRAYING THEM!
Remember the bucket? if you live in a relationship that does not have these 3 things met…
THE PILLARS TO AN AFFAIR:
Adoration
Affirmation > ARE UNMET!
Affection
You are kidding yourselves thinking you are immune to an affair… you can’t hold these very long on your own…
But if you ask your spouse to help you hold the bucket with you… you may actually get somewhere.
If these are not met a person will always be more tempted by satan to fall.
Its not a sin to be tempted… but it is a sin to cause someone to be tempted!
- 1 Cor. 7 You not fulfilling your vows to your spouse leads them into temptation
- Mark 9 whoever causes a child to sin
- Satan tempted Jesus…
- And GOD cannot tempt us… and he is our example!
So with that being said -
So if you by your behavior are tempting your spouse OR CAUSING THEM TO BE TEMPTED
you need to repent and ask God to help you fulfill their emotional needs.
And if it is your spouse who needs to repent then it is probably both of you who need to repent.
