Weaponising Words in the World War of Worldviews
Today, we seem to be involved in a world war of worldviews and in this war, words are weapons. Terminology can be toxic. How consistent is the conversation? Is there a double-standard in the popular narrative? How can we understand the political debate raging on the news reports and in the streets today? Can we take at face value what political activists are saying? What they are saying and what they mean, doesn’t always seem to be the same thing, does it? How can we understand the underlying philosophies and world views behind many, apparently innocent, comments? How can we translate the terminology that all too often seems toxic? If words have become weaponised, what can we learn from the worldviews of destruction? What does the Bible say about words, communication and conversation? Are there resources that can help us to unravel the rhetoric and decipher the debate?
“But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.”
