After interviewing 5000 of the most successful people in the world… What are the 4 things that almost all successful people have in common? Would you believe that the bible already tells us what they are?

 

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

 

Faith is the Confidence… you actually start believing by putting time and effort ACTION behind what you believe.

 

You don’t just believe it, you act on it. You start to study business… you may not even know what kind of business you are going to start… BUT faith is the confidence… so that means you start to study what state is the best state to start a business. When you date someone you ask them if they would mind if their husband ran his own business and even went bankrupt and started over, or if he had to put in long hours… your FAITH is action even before you get there. 

 

What we HOPE FOR: To be filled with joy and confidence that no matter what happens you still keep working the plan and you know that you are getting closer, you are learning, its all joyful because in the end it will make sense.

 

You start a business… it starts off with a bang… you have people rip you off, lie about you, it sputters and you lose everything… but deep inside you are joyful knowing that God has taught you some valuable lessons. You have more insight and more connections for the next business you start. 

 

Assurance: Proof. God will give you proof for the future direction. 

Someone comes and asks you to work for them… it’s not what you had expected - you want to run your own business… but God says do it. In a few years you become the VP and the owner wants to sell you the business. You buy it and it becomes even more successful, the lessons you learned now prove again and again Gods faithfulness. 

 

Proof of what we do not see:

We will discern how our practice, our perseverance our time under tension will pay off.

 

Now here is the kicker… all of this happens in our mind by faith before we ever even take our first step toward starting a business.

 

How do I know that… well this verse speaks of it pretty clearly, but Paul goes on to give about example after examples of men who lived this out.

Enoch, Noah, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David and Samuel and the prophets

 

Study their lives and they all believed the plan God had for them but had to live it out. 

 

When I started lifting weights as a Frosh in high school I could only see me doing 225… but then I could see myself doing 315, and then I could see myself doing 400 and even 500… but I was still only a Frosh doing 185. But I worked at it, I studied, I lifted, I asked lots of questions, I listened to my coach, I failed many times… and I finally did 585 in competition… and it only took 38 years to do it. What if I had given up?

What if I had given up on playing the guitar?

My marriage?

My business?

My health?

 

Faith says I see where I am to be, I see myself going there and working the faith plan, I see myself failing and moving forward, I see myself there! 

 

So what about those 5000 successful people… what were the 4 things they all had.

in their heart they believed they were meant for greatness

They all felt like they knew what direction God was calling them in

They all lived with expectancy… even in failure

They all lived with urgency
